Portal & Membership Terms
Last updated: August 28, 2026
These Portal & Membership Terms govern your use of the Great North Immigration client portal and any Membership Plus subscription. They are specific to the portal and our online services; they add to, and do not replace, the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and other policies published on greatnorthimmigration.com. If you have signed a retainer agreement with us, that agreement governs the services it covers and prevails over these Terms to the extent of any conflict.
1. Membership is a subscription, not a retainer
Membership Plus is a paid subscription to portal services (such as unlimited preliminary assessments and member pricing on consultations). It is not a retainer, it does not create a client–representative relationship, and it does not make Great North Immigration your authorized representative before Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) or any other tribunal or authority.
Formal representation — where a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) acts on your behalf, prepares or submits an application, or gives advice tailored to your full circumstances — is engaged only under a separate, signed retainer agreement and the fees set out in it. Nothing in the portal, and no membership, creates that relationship on its own.
2. Preliminary assessments — limited scope, not legal advice
A preliminary assessment is prepared solely from the information you provide and is reviewed by a licensed RCIC. It is an opinion on your apparent eligibility under published criteria as at the date of review. It is not legal advice, not a guarantee of any outcome, invitation, approval, or processing time, and not an application to IRCC.
Eligibility rules, draws, and cut-offs change frequently, and a full application is assessed by IRCC on the complete record. Because an assessment reflects only what you enter, you are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your information; Great North Immigration is not responsible for outcomes that result from data-entry errors, omissions, or information that later proves inaccurate.
3. What your account includes
- Legacy Free accounts created before the new enrollment plans may include one preliminary assessment. New signups do not receive a free assessment; it is available as a separate one-time purchase.
- Membership Plus includes unlimited preliminary assessments and reassessments while the subscription is active.
- Any consultation or retainer credits are subject to their stated validity — currently 365 days from the date the credit is issued — after which an unused credit expires.
4. Billing, renewal, and cancellation
Membership Plus is billed in US dollars through our payment processor. New subscriptions are available monthly at USD 19.99or annually at USD 179 (about USD 14.92per month). The USD $59 quarterly price applies only to existing quarterly subscribers, who may keep renewing until cancellation or expiry; after the subscription ends, quarterly billing cannot be restarted. A paid 60-minute consultation is $150 USD ($120 USD for members). Prices may change on a go-forward basis; the price shown at checkout is what applies to that purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals and your membership benefits continue until the end of the period already paid for. Refunds, where they apply, are governed by our Refund Policy.
5. Your account and acceptable use
You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your sign-in credentials secure, and to be responsible for activity under your account. You agree not to misuse the portal — including attempting to access other users' data, disrupting the service, or using it unlawfully. We may suspend or close accounts that are abusive, fraudulent, or in breach of these Terms.
Documents and information you upload are used only to deliver the services you request and are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
6. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
